Also, check the foot switch to make sure it's working properly. Should turn it off and on and if it doesn't it's defective. You can get a replacement at local auto parts places.

Is the red light coming off and on intermittently? Or just "on" ?
Sure can't think of anything other than hi-beam indic. If you can't control its comings and goings then I'm with 68gmsee, swap the foot switch.

I'm glad someone cleared that up for me. I stopped driving my truck for a week because I take those red lights seriously.
