Need 72 C-20 Quadrajet ID# help
 

Does anyone know specifically what Q-Jet my truck should have?
72 C-20 No Calif emissions, no efe evaporative emission canister, 4-spd, a/c, power brakes.
I dont know that they are that specific.
Maybe someone with an original C-20 like mine could let me know what id# they have?

I think I have this correct that the # I need is 742210 but I am confirming b/c I do not have a resource book on these to verify.

According to Cliff Ruggles, you're on the money until the last two numbers. The second to last number would be 0,1,2 for Chevrolet and the last number would be an odd number 1,3,5,7,9 for a manual transmission.

Thanks for that information!
So for example instead of 7042210 I would rather have 7042211. I think I have it then. Now all I have to do is find one.....

7042206 is 402,eng. 7042207 is also 402 eng. 7043108 is 307 eng. 7043123,7042124. i got the book with the black cover for the chevy v8 casting and stamped numbers from 1955-1993
