Rev Classic 100's - Anybody got 'em?

1 Attachment(s)
After extensive research... I'm planning on a set of these on my '71 SWB in the spring. 20x8.5 with 255/40's and 20x9.5 with 295/40's both zero offset. Look a lot like Coys but way cheaper. Surprised I don't see anybody running them except this post....???

...and he's gone dark.

Anybody running a set - or is there a reason why I don't see them on our trucks?

FWIW....here in Nashville I priced a set 2 weeks ago, $695 for the set, 2 ea. 20x8 and 2 ea 20x9.5....Discount Tire.

A buddy of mine has both the Coys and Rev 100's so I've seen them both up close. I like the lip on the Coys a little better, but the 100's seem to balance better. Coys guys - I'm not hating on the Coys AT ALL, just relaying what I've seen 1st hand.

Oh yea, you probably won't get them in a hurry, my guy at Discount Tire told me between 4-6 weeks.

I don't think you can go wrong with either route, good luck.

I ended up ordering 20" Coy C-5's in gunmetal. Rev's were available after alot of searching but with Coy's sale and the fact they are 1/2" wider it made the added cost worth it. Should be here Thursday!

All I had to do is run a spacer in the rear (pic is PRE-spacer) They didnt rub in the rear, but they were very close. You need the spacer for cosmetic reasons. They look a little sunk in in the rear without it from certain angles. The fronts fit great with no modification. I havent put very many miles on them but I havent been able to make them rub in the front yet (4.5/6 ECE) My truck is a 70 and has the wide rearend. IMO if your truck has the narrower rearend, I dont think these wheels would work. But, for the money, they worked GREAT for me and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. But i also love the Coys so good choice.

Thanks jmking9. Glad to see you making progress. We should start a black primer short fleetside bedside club!

I know this thread is old, but I used it when selecting my new wheels. They came in today, so I guess I should add pics to the thread. They don't scrub in the rear, but are close. I'll be adding the recommended 3/8" spacer as soon as I can get a set.
Going to cross post to the other thread mentioned too.

What are the specs on your wheel's/tires? Looks great! Are they Coys?

Wheels are the 20x8 and 20x9.5 rev classics. Tires are nitto 255/40 and 285/40 20. Not sure on the back spacing.

Love the wheels! Are they polished or chrome? Backspacing? I had my mind made up on 18's, but I can save money by getting 20's, so that's most likely what I'll do. I saw you listed your rear tire size as "285". Did you mean "295?" I only ask because they're very few options in 285's.

One reason I believe some or alot of trucks are not running these is I "believe"- do your home work and double check. I wanted to run these as well as they are all over ebay at really good prices but I believe I read a thread on here about having to turn your front rotor hubs to fit? again I'm not sure if this is the wheel but believe it to be....I wouldn't have a problem turning my front rotors as I have lathes all over and have been a machinist for 14 yrs but I just don't have the time for modding a part when I can buy a wheel that works with the rotors as they are....Hope this helps if not disreguard!

I think the wheels you are referring to are the Boss 338's. I know there was a huge issue with those fitting either the early or late hubs, don't remember which. I am not aware of any such problems with the wheels on efi-street's truck.

Rev 1000s were a wheel licensed to rev by American racing. They lost there license to make the copy of the wheel that coy and rev was ripping off. The American racing torque thrust.. Coy are cheap knock offs flying on the coat tails of American racing. You can get the torque thrust custom built with any width and offset you want. Even custom painted. I will be doing the ne. twisted torque thrust on my truck painted to match
