Door speaker covers available?

Does anyone reproduce or sell this style of speaker cover like what came in my 1980 Blazer? What size speakers were in them? All that's left is the metal brakets on my door panels.

hey, thats my blazer! lets see pics of your 1980! i am new to the 2wd blazer world and am loving mine so far. im amazed at the interior condition of mine. those speaker covers are in good shape but so easy to break. it feels like they are just a tiny bump away from being broken...

That kit is cool. It is legit too. Those are the exact pieces factory installed in the kickpanels of my 1975 Gentleman Jim.

I did not think anything other than a 1-speaker AM or AM/FM radio was offered until 1979 or 1980. (?) I have owner's manuals from all years & it's not specifiied in any of them from '78 down. I don't think the '79 has it either but I'm not 100% on that.

For anything but a Gentleman Jim you might be right. Take a look at the brochure:

I think you could get stereo in 79. The speakers would have been in the kick panels like in the kit on ebay. I saw a 79 on ebay a few days ago that had the kick panel speakers with the factory stereo. My spid on my 79 gmc has monaural radio prov listed on the spid, for a single speaker system.

The 79 on ebay did not have a spid. I asked the owner and it was gone.

WOW: I had read that brochure before but evidently glazed across the part about the stereo. Thanks for posting that! How odd: I would assume the Gentleman Jim Trucks probably got a separate owner's manual supplement for just the audio system. Oldsmobile did that through the 70's and into the 80's.

....just another reason why these trucks fascinate me so much.

I guess I need to go through my SPID collection & see if any of the unfortunate '79 model trucks I had run across had the stereo. I guess it may have been offered midway through the production year (like power windows in '77).

I'm looking for a set of these covers and haven't been able to find any yet. If anyone has a line on a pair, I'd sure be interested.

Thanks!
