Is this inside the cab? It looks like an added dealer item. My guess it's an auxillary heater.

I have never seen one but being your in canada you probably need the extra heat in the winter.

Is this a tailgate mounted option? Lol! Looks like something from a store added to the truck

Hey there is something I have not seen in a while, late 70īs and 80īs cab heater. Usualy connected on the same harness as the engine block heater so when you get out in the morning your cab is nice and warm and the windows free of ice. They work really well, only thing with them is that they have a glowing hot element inside so if you donīt make sure that they are clean they might catch fire. All I have seen have been dealer installed.

When I lived in Alaska we used them all the time, keeps the rig warm in the winter. There designed to work when the rig is plugged in, this keeps the interior warm. If you had a rig with a vinyl interior you don't want to climb into the cab at -40, your seat will shatter glass.

something i thought about ....
using it is decieving, your car might be warm but the block isn't so you may drive warm ,but cause damage cause the engine is still cold heck a small square room heater does the same thing, most turn off when tipped,or reach temp, older ones don't but consider a block heater,so the block is warm too |
