Bench seat alternatives?
 

We have a we long bed and it has a bench seat. Wife is the size of a short elf and we need a taller bench seat. What if any is a bolt in swap?

I would just use pillows to be honest.

Or find and fab up some electric seats that go up and down etc.

If its just gonna be her driving you could have a upholstery shop make the base taller.My uncle is like 5'3 he has to sit on a pillow to see over the dash on most cars hes owned.

We have to keep it a bench seat. So our little girl can ride in it. She is 5 feet with shoes on. She had a 68 gmc befor with a 90s burb rear seat and could see fine. Any one know if that will fit?

Only thing i can think of is making the seat rails taller which would probably take a welder and a little time.

I've put power seats / rails into some other trucks I have owned so it can be done.

My '98 had the 60/40 front bench which had the power seat on the driver's side, perhaps the rails and seat motors could be swaped onto a square body bench seat?

I am in the middle of putting a 60/40 set out of a 98 T100 Toyota in my 83 regular cab. I pulled the stock rails off of the my old seat, and separated the upper and lower part of the slider. I used just the bottom part of the slider/runner that gives me sold mounting points running front to back. I am now using 1 1/2in angle to run side to side (across the width of the cab) and bolting them to the stock runners. I am putting the seats on top of that. It does put me a little high, but I cant remove the runners on the Toyota seats since they are integrated with the side latch and folding/sliding mechanism. For you, this would be perfect. HOWEVER, the easy way for you to raise your stock seat is to put spacers between the mounting brackets and the seat itself. 1 inch square tube would most likely work.

get square stock in the size you desire to raise the seat. for example if you want to raise the seat 2 inches get 2x2 stock. cut it into cut it at two inch intervals so you have a 2x2x2 box. drill a hole through it get longer bolts and youve got yourself some spacers for about 10 bucks and a half hour of your time

I swapped the seat out of my 86 with one that was from a 76, and the seat was much taller and the back seemed thinner. I was able to scoot the seat back further, and I felt about 2 inches taller. I'm pretty sure there are variations in the "standard" bench seat, but I don't know which years in which trucks are different.

The issues I have are not so much the seat, as the floor board that is very uneven with humps and bumps and high over here and low over there. Then, the gas tank sits right under the drivers side so even if you do have to redrill a hole, you have to drop the tank to get to it.
