Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
Already well into my project (see Project: Crew'd Attitude)
Have some questions though... What did everyone do about the ebrake cable length? suburban rear cables? or? Has anyone put 1/2 ton coils in the front of a 1 ton? What drop did you get with stock springs? or did you use drop coils? Measurements from rocker would be cool if possible.... Any direction would be appreciated, searched but came up with nothing. :waah: |
Re: Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
Posted in your build thread. I think the 1/2 ton springs are shorter than the 1 ton springs that would require moving the hangers, i think.
I havent done anything on the ebrake cable yet. I used 2" springs and 3" spindles in the front and a flip in the rear. Thinking about some bags for the rear for towing. |
Re: Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
Was speaking of the fronts actually....sorry, should have been more clear.
So you kep the 1 ton springs in the front then? What did you do with the blue/silver reg cab? Any chance you have measurements to compare? Thanks! |
Re: Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
On the dually i used 2" dropped springs and 3" spindles.
The 87 1/2 ton i cut 1 coil from the stock springs. I will go check the measurements. |
Re: Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
Ok. 1 ton is 9" from rocker to ground with 235-75-16.
the 1/2 ton is 10" with 255-50-17. I think i have something backwards 1 ton is lower than 1/2 ton? Not for long though, after the dually is done the 1/2 is getting a little attention. |

1/2 ton springs could be used in place of the 1-ton stuff but how much drop to expect will depend on what drivetrain you have & what springs you use (new or 'aged'). |
Re: Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
hmmmm, well mine with bell tech spindles, and 1/2 a ring cut off the tons I sit 12" to the ground with 235/85/16s
What the hell? |
Re: Some questions about CCSB conversion (in progress)
Front of thre rocker to the pinch right behind the fender. The drop springs i used were for a 1/2 ton also. Those 285"s are pretty tall also.
