350 heads
 

So i replaced the heads on my 350 cause they were both cracked, and i bought some camel hump heads off a guy i know. I take to the machine shop to get them checked and cleaned up. They were good and ready to go, then the owner of the shop says they wont work cause they dont have the holes in the front of the head to bolt on my accesories. So what do i do? Buy brackets to fit my truck or get other heads? Please help. Also, on one head. Someone drilled 2 holes in the front of the head but i dont know for what. Can i just weld them shut or plug them up with short bolts?

Do you have ac? You can drill the heads for accessory holes if you need to. Any competent machinist can do this. Camel hump heads arent to hard to get rid of. There are two versions of the camel hump 202. One has bolt holes and the other version which you have doesnt

Try www.alangrovecomponents.com they make all kinds of custom brackets. Otherwise you might have to sell your heads and get different ones.

If you run a long water pump with just a alternator and powersteering its easy. Only the lower alternator bracket uses an accesory hole so instead of using that long bolt and spacer just use a bolt and nut. It works great.

So many options and ideas. I need to get this truck running cause iam moving. What would u guys do? My wife and her fam own a metal fab shop. Can i just have them make something?

I made the same mistake, put mine up on Craigslist and a local race guy swapped me for some that had bolt holes and actually were nicer than the ones I had. Might try it, ya never know.

67-72 low-mount power steering pump and bracket. I also found a low mount power steering set up on a '74 G20 van that works. Frame clearance is tight, may require a little tweaking. Many street rod style alternator brackets will work. With the correct rams horns exhaust manifolds the vette style alternator bracket (60's?) may be an option.

Yea i was told about going this route, it might be the easier way. Iam sure i can find the brackets at a junck yard. That answers that question. Thanx guys! Once again u guys helped out.
