The length of the front springs. 2nd gen are 3" longer if memory serves.

amazing how much more a lift costs for the 72 considering they are shorter! Superlift is the only 8 inch i could find for the 72 and they are on the edge of shutting down so i will buy a 73-87 kit and make new hangers for the front. thanx for the help

Re: 73-87 lift in a 72
Sure thing. What do you mean Superlift is on the verge of shutting down? Going out of business or ceasing production of 8" springs?

Re: 73-87 lift in a 72
apperently they are close to going out of business but they may have some major restructureing also

Re: 73-87 lift in a 72
That sucks. My springs are Superlift, not Skyjacker. I always get them confused. When I had the money, I'd wanted to get front springs from them to replace the '73+ ones and match the rear.

Re: 73-87 lift in a 72
4 wheel parts has the superlift 72 front springs in stock

Re: 73-87 lift in a 72
well i figured a way around the 73 springs, since they are longer i will get them recurved which will shorten them and give me more lift and then just add a block in the rear. its like a win win
