73-87 lift in a 72

The length of the front springs. 2nd gen are 3" longer if memory serves.

Correct. Rear springs are the same, but the front ones are longer in later models. I know because the PO put '73+ springs on the front of my Blazer and the shackles/rear eyes are pushed up against the frame. I called Skyjacker to verify the part number on them. Too bad, they're almost brand new (as far as mileage goes) Skyjacker springs. I'd sell them, but right now I don't have anything to replace them with.

amazing how much more a lift costs for the 72 considering they are shorter! Superlift is the only 8 inch i could find for the 72 and they are on the edge of shutting down so i will buy a 73-87 kit and make new hangers for the front. thanx for the help

Sure thing. What do you mean Superlift is on the verge of shutting down? Going out of business or ceasing production of 8" springs?

apperently they are close to going out of business but they may have some major restructureing also

That sucks. My springs are Superlift, not Skyjacker. I always get them confused. When I had the money, I'd wanted to get front springs from them to replace the '73+ ones and match the rear.

well i figured a way around the 73 springs, since they are longer i will get them recurved which will shorten them and give me more lift and then just add a block in the rear. its like a win win
