For those who appreciate the factory look, here is a a nice representation of a 1 ton longbed stepside. No fleetsides in this weight rating! Could of used a little detail work ( letters on tailgate and white trim paint around grill surround area) and steel strips on bed wood, but not all restorations jobs are sold completed.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...item20c28f836a

Tough to determine what engine is under hood. The 235 is very similar in appearance to the 261 big six.

I do kinda like the long steppers for the oddball factor when they have the factory original look. This one has low miles and little use, but somehow has managed to require a repaint, redone seat, replacement floor mat, and bed wood. Does not quite add up, unless it was left outside to waste away after the sole 13000 mile trip... but supposedly garaged since??

Even low mileage trucks left out in the elements end up requiring restoration work. The key is to find a low mileage truck that was garaged since new:lol:. Love the authenticity of bias ply truck tires ( aka pie cutters)!

Thanks for posting the link. That is a nice example of a very rare model. The crazed plastic in the instrument cluster does seem odd for a truck stored indoors for decades. If the body and paint are as nice as they look it wouldn't take much to restore it to complete perfection. Did 66 models ever come with shoulder belts? I'm curious how well those would work being mounted at the height of the seat back.

Hmmm, we jumped from a period correct looking '62 1 ton stepside to '66 shoulder belts. Ok, since my interest is in all things factory, I'll take it on. Yes, this was a mid year option on '66's. Early production '66 trucks don't have the rubber grommet where one would have been added. Mid year trucks came with the rubber grommet in the location, but very few trucks were ordered with shoulder belt option. Here is a period photo which cleary shows a '66 ( note custom cab seat upholstry with white stripe all the way acros). I bet this truck in photo is a very highly optioned vehicle( auto, air cond. power steering power brakes etc., wish I had more photos of this one.

I forgot it was a 62. I just saw the belt/anchor above the seat and 1966 popped in my head. Just interesting to see it there.
