FNG, and need some help!

Wassup guys and gals, been lurking here for a while now and finally registered up, this site has now turned into a money pit for me with all the rad rides on here!
Any way bought a '66 C10 2 months ago from a guy in GA., he said he really did not have time to drive and it mostly sat, truck was in awesome shape and it fit my budget so I went and got it.

Just got done re-wiring it with a painless kit(anything but for a rookie) and have been driving it everyday. Truck has a 305 V8 with a quadrajet carb on it, I can be cruising but when I hit 50-60mph it starts to bog down like it is going to run outta gas, so I replaced the fuel filter went out and stomped on it and it drove great, been driving fine for 3-4 weeks until today, way home from work it started bogging down again at 55mph, any leads on what to do next would be great as I am not a problem solver in the mechanic field, slowly learning.

I will post pics of my ride when I figure out how to from an iPhone
Thanks again everyone

Welcome!! Sounds like you might have a dirty fuel tank. Pull off that filter you just installed and blow through it. If it's plugged you might want to drain and clean out the tank a little. If not then we need to do some more troubleshooting.

Dang! That's one killer looking truck. Does it crank and idle with ease? Could be vacuum advance.

Wow that is a very nice truck. If you’re dealing with the oem fuel filter in the carburetor inlet, I’d suggest that might be the problem, especially if it’s the bronze type. If it is, I’d suggest installing an inline filter of your choice ahead of the carburetor. They can collect a ton more crud from the gas without plugging up. The inlet filter may already need to be cleaned again. It can be retained for secondary filtration, or simply eliminated.

Has your tank been relocated? In the first picture it looks like the filler is gone from the cab? I agree recheck your filter as your first step, if it's dirty again move to the tank. Nice "V" and truck, welcome.

I agree with the fuel filter and/or a dirty fuel tank.

Welcome fellow floridian. Your truck looks awesome...nice find.
I agree with the masses that its gotta be a dirty tank.

Motorimpaired, are you by O.I.A.? I have been watching your build for a little while and you are light years ahead of me in skill bro, would love to come by and check out your truck sometime, are you stuck on any part of the wiring? Must admit I'm no electrical genius at all and had help from some very skilled buddies!

Are you going to Billetproof up at Don Garlitts? I think I have a crew of trucks riding out, we should meet up

All the wiring sucks for me!!!! LOL

Thanks. I just got the transmision done and put the short block together yesterday. Going to see if I can get the rest done today and maybe get the motor back in. I really want to go to Billetproof but there is no way I will have the truck done. My goal is for Daytona and the way things look it might be a stretch.... I dont care even care if everything is not wired, as long as it runs and drives Im good..

Might want to check sinse the tank was moved to see if the tank is vented, either one on top of the tank or using a vented cap. that would act the same way..

Re: FNG, and need some help!

Didn't get a chance this weekend to drop the tank and clean it(too large of a honey-do list!) hopefully Tuesday I will get around to it, thanks for all the ideas I will put all in effect...drove the truck to work yesterday and it drove fantastic, couple of spirited parking lot stunts and no problems at all

Nice truck!
I agree to put an inline filter in and you also might try a temp fuel pressure gage to monitor what is going on when it bogs...
