Brothers vs Early Classics Disc Brake Kit

Hi Everyone,

I'm going to be upgrading to disc brakes on my 67 C10. Right now it drum brakes with six lugs. At the same time I'd like to replace all of the normal wear parts on the front end (ball joints, tie rods, and so on).

I was considering going with the Disc brake kit from Early Classics ($859) and also buying their MOOG front end rebuilt kit (about $525). http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog....version%20Kits

Brothers has a disc brake kit with front end parts (their "Deluxe" kit) on sale for about $624. http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=DBC6L20

The Brothers kit seems much cheaper. Are the Early Classic parts that much better? I'm planning on going to power brakes too....

Thanks for any feedback and experience.

My experience is ECE all the way. I have also been through the ringer as most have with Brothers saying they have something and backorder it as soon as you drop off your money. Look through the bad deals area and you may find people upset......

You ask for experience, thats mine....

I second 71meangreenc10's opinion - I have used both but I have never been disappointed or let down with the parts or service I get from Early Classic Enterprises (ECE), I cannot say the same for Brothers. In addition - ECE will always be there to provide support along the way and long after you have purchased and installed your parts.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I talked to someone from ECE yesterday, and they seem knowledgeable and much more eager to help than a lot of the places.

Since I still have front Drum brakes, I have stock height spindles, right?

If you have contemplated lowering your truck, no is the time to do it.

I'll probably stay stock. I was wondering what spindles I needed, but 1stchevy helped me out (I know it's a bit of a dumb question but you guys are the only ones that I know to ask...).

The truck has already been lowered a bit (not sure how, cut springs?). It looks like the picture above but on the right. I'll have to get some pics up soon to show you guys.

Thanks for the help!

It's already been lowered, but not with spindles. I need to figure out how it was lowered in the front (the rear has lowering blocks). If it's cheap and will help the ride I might "fix" the lowering job from the PO and go with drop spindles. I might just go with stock spindles to make it easier. Opinions?

Thanks!
