17's, & dropped

ok ok, so once i get some money, how big of a drop could i go with, while having 17 inch AR torq thrust II's, (17x--?) how wide could i go? i'm guessing, not very wide in front? prolly 17x8 in back? i really love the look of the 5/7, but, i dont know what size tires i could tuck in there, so 4/6 sounds pretty good to me, i want it to be low, but not draggin on every pebble low..

any info would be great

thanks

heres 17x9.5's boyds with a 5/7 drop. the backspace has to be perfect to fit these wide rims up front and the tires are pretty low profile. 17X8 front and 17x10 rear will fit really good with a 5/7 drop.

My specs are in my sig. I have no problems with rubbing at all.
BTW: My tires are 255/55 17's (28" tires) and my rims have 5½" of backspacing. I think you could get away with a 4/6 with 255/50 17's (which I ALMOST got in the first place, but I wanted all the sidewall I could get) I think in fact, Swervin Ervin is running a 5/6 with 255/50 17's.

Here's a pic:

The front fenders are 29½" off the ground, and the rears are 28½". On my lower controls arms though, it's REAL close to rubbing. If I would have gotten any different rims at ALL they would have rubbed. I got just the PERFECT setup :D

I'm running AR Torq Thrust II's, 17x8's. They have the same as stock 4" BS. I have 255/50's for tires. My drop is 4/6. No problems at all. If you go with a 10" rim out back, I think a 5" BS would work out great. This would look good too, because of the narrower track the rear of our trucks have. This would bring the wheel/tire out 1" farther and match the front.

Only reason I went with 17x8's all the way around is so I can rotate them.

Do they have the AR torq thrust II's in 10''? in Jegs they only have 9.5"

thanks, Jeff

Mike....Where did you order your tires/wheels from and what was the total cost?? I am checking for my father in law. :) thanks! You can PM me if you like. Thanks!

swervin ervin 05-03-2003 06:59 PM

Dave,

I bought them local. Where my wife works, they take their vehicles to a tire place close to them. They gave me a good deal on the complete package. Top notch folks to deal with too. As a matter of fact, the owners son put my tires on the wheels his self.

Total cost for everything was $1727.08.

LOHRTBT 05-05-2003 11:35 AM

Thanks Mike....so I guess it would cost more to have them done for my father in law.. lol I dont see him spending that much dinero!! lol I paid 2500 for my twankies...under 1500 for my chrome 18" ZO6 wheels/tires. Maybe he will be putting on the nasty old style cragars he likes...haha I am really trying to talk him out of it.

TIMSPEED 05-05-2003 12:09 PM

I paid $1200 for my Budnik, I mean Eagle's. :D That's rims AND tires.

c10scotty 05-05-2003 09:03 PM

i only payed $450-475 for my 15x8 solid aluminum wheels (cant remember the brand) and 235/60 bfg radial t/a's.

everything was new btw
