454 finally fired
2 long years and I finally got it done! had a fuel leak so I couldn't break in the cam today, but at least it didnt explode:metal:

I got my 76 at 15 and saw the 454 emblem and dreamed of having one, 3 working summers later, at 18, its done! :D gotta love dem big blocks

indeed, as soon as i get another job want to get a 69 or 70 with a 396 or 402 as well. i have a love affair with old gm big blocks :devil:

my first big block is still in the garage waiting for machine work to start the build, but by god i have a 454 in my possession.

Good sounding indeed, broke in cam completely today, got a few oil leaks, spark plug wires keep poppin off, other than that went smooth. Pretty loud with only stock GM manifolds and 2ft of pipe haha! I'd drive it like that all day if I could
