I think it is the lighting and the angle of the lens taking the picture, I had the same feeling when I first saw it. Just looked "off".

I totally agree. I kept staring at the photo trying to figure out how this was done. So it appears the doors were eliminated and the long bed brought forward and welded up. Then the wheel opening was sectioned and moved back. Definitely a creative build. Why the hell he chose that paint scheme is beyond me.
