What years came with carpeting?
 

Hey guys. My truck is currently carpetless, and I want to install one, it will make my interior look 100x better.

Anyways, what years came with carpeting? I thought all the 70's were rubber floor mats.

i dont think so seems like even some of the body style before the squares had carpet.

im pretty sure even the 67 to 72s had carpet as well. i know the square bodys did, 1973 to 1987 i belive came with carpet could be wrong

all did it was just if you wanted it or not and the sub model level

good question it may have been an option, i have to wonder if rubber floor mats were standard with carpet as an option, not a hundred percent sure

I think it all had to do with the interior trim level for your truck, not all trucks had carpet although carpet was an option.

Base ...custom deluxe....black rubber mats
next level...scottsdale ....color keyed rubber mats
upper levels .....cheyenne and silverado ....carpets

except if you ordered bucket seats you got carpet at all levels

Also some packages like sport and wrangler got carpet on scottsdale level

My truck is a Custom Deluxe that came with a bench and carpet and had no other special package. The dealer just ordered it with carpet.

73-87 could be ordered with carpet. rubber mats were just on custom and Scottsdale. although a base model truck could have all the trim and accessories of a silverado

You got what the dealer ordered from the factory or what you want to pay for.
I bought a new Custom Deluxe in 1980.
It had the common options-p.s.,p.b.,dual tanks,a/c,etc.But no carpet.
67/72's had carpet available.
Never seen a 60/66 with factory carpet.

My '90 burb scottsdale came with blue rubber matting firewall to tailgate.

base models had rubber everything else it was an option all the way back to 67.you can still get rubber on the floor if you order a work truck
