Vern E- New member with steering column question

I have a 65 Fleetside and plan on putting in a coustom steering column, I have noticed that there are several lengths to chose from. Which length is the correct one? or does it matter much?

Hey Vern, I noticed this is your first post, welcome. You might want to edit your title to something like "custom steering column length?" or similar. (not saying that Vern isn't the most interesting name or anything). Just a suggestion. Sorry no info for you on the column.

I'm getting the ididit retrofit steering column for my 65. They have them for 60-66, 67-72, and 73-87. Should be straight bolt-in.

I think they are close to 35 inches , if I am wrong I 'm sure there will be many to say so. Welcome to this site it is great for info

I bought a 33 inch, mainly because I have some BELLY between me and the column. If it ends up being to short I'll buy a dished wheel
