Cable gas pedal firewall location

Would anyone have a picture of where the cable comes out of the firewall for the throtle linkage? I am converting and need to know where to drill the 1/2 inch hole.
Thanks,
Don

The instructions for LFDs adapter plate comes with measurements and instructions. I'm not at home now but when I'm off work ill get you the info, unless someone chimes in before then. It looked really simple.

Thanks, I have the instructions but a pic is worth a thousand instructions. Since the truck is together I just need to see where that hole is to see if its worth the trouble.
Thanks again

Try this link to a previous thread. I'm not sure what hole you are asking about (I have a '69), but it's probably the square hole labeled "throttle linkage".

Just above the oil pressure line hole in that picture is a dimple that sticks out into the engine bay, you can feel it with your finger from inside the cab. If you have the adapter plate for your pedal installed it measures 4-1/4" above the adapter plate. That is where you drill the 1/2" hole, you have to work it with a file until it's square, take it easy and do a little at a time, if you make it too big you are screwed.

thanks for these tips, I havent installed the pedal or plate yet. I wanted to see how hard its going to be to get a 1/2 drill in there. It would have been so much easier if I did this when the cab was off :-(

Bingo! Better if you can use a small air drill, I had to go at it at an angle with my big drill because of the dash but I got it done.

sounds like you drilled from the inside out? Inside the cab?

Yes, from inside the cab. Here is a pic for you...not the best shot but you get the idea.

Posted via Mobile DeviceNot to jack the thread, but are there any other throttle cables that anyone knows of that are round that would work, so you don't have to square off the hole?

Re: Cable gas pedal firewall location

Squaring the hole was really easy. I had a square file and from the engine compartment it only took a few minutes.
