Your floats are bouncing around causing problems. I believe Holley has spring loaded needle seats that will go in place of the original. You can try calling Holley and ask them for the. Conversion kit. Other wise you may need the off road carb from Holley

Re: what carb should i get?

all u need to do is readjust your float a little lower then normal that way when u are going down the road you wont have that much gas to bounce around and flood out. i run a demon on my chevy and it lifted, i play out in the hills with it and i dont have a problem. if you want those needles just go to napa and order them. they will help a little but u will have to learn how to adjust your floats. holley and demons are the best cards out there. u dont need a new one.

once u set the float that will stop. i take mine up hills all the time i live by yellowstone and i play hard so. and holley is the best carb u just need to set it right and thendont touch it. people that hate them dont have then set right and they are not smart enough to go get a book to get it right.

Re: what carb should i get?

its also set for a dump truck so its prolly not meant for steep hills

Have used a few truck Avengers on a few Mudracers and they really work nice. I perfer Edelbrock up here in Northern Canada, the Holleys suck for cold weather like -15 to -40 are kind of pissy, but the Avenger seems to work good especially bouncing around on the rocks.

Re: what carb should i get?

If you run truck avenger float bowls and the spring loaded needle valves it should run fine. I had that on my junkyard special 72 4x4. Bounced through river beds and ran up the sides of hills without an issue. Make sure your fuel pump isn't cranking out to much pressure.

What model carb are you using btw? Never had a problem with any Holley even when somebody did their best to warp and clog them
