What tire size? Stock ride height.

Which tire size do you think would fit better on a stock ride height 68 Stepside?
.

LT265/75R16 or LT285/75R16

I plan on buying Mickey Thompson Classic II 16x8 wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Radial tires from Performance Plus online so I want to make sure I'm getting the size right before I order.

Thank You

If you have a 1/2 ton 2wd Those are both pretty big. The front turning clearance of the lower front edge of the wheel well may be an issue.

If it is a 4wd I am not sure. I have 285-75/16 on the back of my 3/4 ton and they are 33 in. tall.

It's a 2 wheel drive C-30, what size would you suggest?

Thanks Again

The 265-75/16 sounds like better choice as long as you have room in the front.

Maybe someone who is running those can shed some light as to wether they have plenty of turning clearance.

The 265/75's ae 31.62 inches high and the 285's are 32.82 inches high. If you know what size tire was originally on the truck you can calulate the height of those and see how high the new tires are in comparison. If you are not sure how to calculate just post the size on here and I'll do it for you.

According to the owners manual, the factory tire sizes were:

Front - 7-17.5-6
Rear - 8-17.5-8D

Well i was stumped for abit but I am pretty sure they size out like this.

7 17.5 -6

7 Sidewall Height

17.5 Rim Diameter

6 6 Ply Tire

So you have 7 x 2= 14 + 17.5 = 31.5 inch tire on Front

8 17.5-8D

8 Sidewall Height

17.5 Rim Diameter

8D 8 Ply Tire with Load range D rating

Again 8 x 2= 16 +17.5 = 33.5 inch Tire on Rear

Hope this helps. It looks like the 285's would be to high for the front.
