Cab Forward info / ideas??

Eh does anyone on here have or know of a Cab Forward truck?
I would love to get one.
I have a pic of one all done on a modern chassis just have to find it.
Any thoughts on one of these cool trucks would be good too

Found this one yesterday while searching a lot. Its a 63 GMC. Still has the original diesel, spicer trans and rearend. Its been parked for probably 20 years, but complete. The briars are thick, but it could be removed. Is this what your refering to?

I love the old GMC cracker boxes! Throw an old 318 Detroit Diesel in it and good to go

There was a couple for sale at the Goodguys show last fall. They were missing way too many parts to make it appetizing. Didn't ask prices, but the urge was there. Someday I will have one to build.

I'm pretty sure that's a photo shop.

Although I do agree that would be way cool to build.

Ya that's my photoshoped baby. I think it would be awesome to build. But I think there is a cab forward version of these trucks but the lines are a little different.

I love that PhotoShop. I have an extra cab and front end I may play with just to see if I can replicate

Re: Cab Forward info / ideas??

Well it would sure give you something to do with all those front fenders that are rusted out!

The more I look at the photoshop pic, I like it!!

I want a COE to put on my 1T chassis really bad, this gives me some ideas, also

Re: Cab Forward info / ideas??

There is a picture on here somewhere of a flat faced cab that was custom built by a manufacturer back in the 60's. I never saved the picture of the truck by the city of Edmonton Ab.
A Cab Over would look nice on a 1 ton chassis.

Re: Cab Forward info / ideas??

the only one that comes to mind is the corvair truck...but the only similar parts were the grills IIRC

Re: Cab Forward info / ideas??

whats missing in the photoshop of the tan one that is present in the real picture of the red one is HEIGHT. the tan one looks cool enough but then you realize the inner fenders would start at about the front of the seat and the motor would be further back than that. you would need your feet on the dash to go anywhere. not to be buzz killington, but there is no room in the floorboards in that photoshop.

aerotruk63 03-19-2012 08:39 AM

Re: Cab Forward info / ideas??

So then a photochop with the wheel opening under and behind the seat is required as in the G model vans from 1964+ as well as Corvair mentioned above. Mid engine of course.

100%Chevy 03-19-2012 09:24 AM

Re: Cab Forward info / ideas??

The photoshop is very close to the design of the modern 80's G- vans.
Which do have "some" foot room in the floor.
I think one could be built!
Peel the skin off a g van and add the 60's pieces to make it look right.

I posted this on the '47-'59 side...just FYI....no one seemed to have much interest....but this truck appears to be a real beauty...
It showed up on CL in Portland....
