Calling Swervin Ervin?
Mike;
I'am about to order a Ram Air kit plus other items for my 85 GMC(which is on your website thanks again!) this week. On Air Inlet Systems website it states that you need a "relief kit" to clear HEI distributers, did you purchase this with the kit on your truck and if so was it difficult to install? Thanks Rob:canada: :gmc: |
Rob,
the relief kit is a piece used to fill the notch in the box. The box will make contact with the distributor cap/wires. Not by much, but it will touch. So you will need to notch it. You could make your own relief kit out of some aluminum just as easy I guess. Since I didn't use it, I really couldn't say what's involved in installing it, but I wouldn't think it would be hard to do. I solved the whole problem when I bought my Ram Air though. I went with the 14AL/RBASE1.5, which is the spun aluminum 1-1/2" velocity stack raised base. Buying it as an option over the regular base, it was $25.00 extra. Are you calling in your order? I haven't quite figured out their online ordering setup yet. It gives you a place to fill in everything but a credit card number. What's up with that? Maybe after you click send, it asks for the number??? I didn't mess with that and called to make sure I got the right stuff. I also didn't go with their K&N type gauze filters. They are not K&N filters, or at least this is what they told me. I just went with a regular paper filter and bought my own K&N filter for it. |
