Same car soap and water I use to wash the truck with, I do the tires and wheels once I have washed and dried the truck.

Re: brake dust

i use eagle one or purple power brake dust remover both have done a great job on my billet wheels spray on wait a couple minutes and wipe down with a soapy rag then rinse

but the best thing i have found was to change to betterer ceramic brake pads with less dustier residue

Re: brake dust

Currently little to no dust with raybestos pads and new rotors.

Car wash seems to clean them up quite well with little to no effort.

Honestly better brake pads won't give you that much dust,Yeah they do cost more but it keeps your rims cleaner and don't have to worry about brake dust messing up the rims too.

I put this stuff - http://www.rejex.com/rejex.html - on my rims. Every week I'll take a damp cloth to my rims and what little brake dust is still on the rims comes right off.

Re: brake dust

Metalwax (macpro distributors) makes some bad-ass cleaners that tear through brake dust and water spots, super fast. Talk to Mike McAfee at Metalwax in Yuba City, CA. I used his stuff on my truck with great success. The minerals on the center caps basically rinse off with this chemical stuff he has. Brake dust too. Disappears really fast. I did it to my whole truck. Paint, wheels, chrome, windows. Looks like new. All the crusty stuff that won't wash off rinses away in seconds. Gotta wear gloves though. It's professional stuff and needs to be used properly so it doesn't get hot. It works ten times faster in the sun, so only use it in the shade on a cool day and make sure the truck is kept nice and wet. He has videos on youtube that explain it. Gotta be really careful on glass and anodizing.

Re: brake dust

like said above, better pads help alot. i spray black magics "tire wet" on the tires, then i wipe off the overspray off the wheel and it takes all the brake dust right off and shines them real nice.
