Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

I never considered them looking tacky at all. Seems to me so many trucks have these they look factory to me. I made a couple of runs to the transfer station today with mine and it was actually a nice day out so I had the slider open along with the drivers window ... nice flow through. But like we always say ... Do what you like best, we all have different tastes.

I just took out a sliding and sold it for $15.00. 1 piece for me !

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

I removed mine and put in a tinted black one piece. The slider used to rattle and I am eventually going to put in A/C and shoulder belt seats from a 2003 Chevy and I think it looks hokey when you can see the top of the buckest through the back window.

I went with sliding glass window and love it!! One piece doesn't allowairflow in cab i got so hot in summer time!

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

I switched from the one piece back to the slider because the dog likes to hang his head in the cab when he is tethered in the box and also when he rides in the camper on our camping trips.

The one piece does look good on nice street trucks though, to each his own I guess.:gmc2:

Really? How so? Air doesn't flow when driving either?

i got a one piece, but i would rather have a slider probably add one sooner or later i like to open them and it is cooler with them. But i'm the type that likes convertibles too so i like it open also considered cutting the top off one someday too.:metal:

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

I voted to keep the slider, I think the aluminum frame tends to make it look like add-on. IMO if it had a black frame it wouldn't look so noticeable.

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

I got a one piece laying around here that may need a new home... I have had both and like them both. I think its just something you are going to have to take a chance on. If you don't like it put the slider back in.

If you don't have an A/C then the slider is nice to have during the spring/summer. I like the look of the single piece but I also don't like to sweat buckets while driving so the slider is best to me in non A/C trucks.

If you can make the sliders black...go with that. Just saw the pic again

I had to Google it: http://www.crlaurence.com/crlapps/sh...36:21770&pom=0

To the OP.... Since you like the extra airflow, keep the slider.

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

I like the slider, but the one piece has a much cleaner look....having said that, sicklajoie's one seems to fit the bill, less obtrusive looking but with all the benefits.

i find a daily driver is alot more comfortable with a sliding rear window// with pickups it has been one of my first upgrades for the past 40years

i dont care what they look like to others as i spend the majority of my time lookin foward

Slider. Need the air flow. I don't have A/C

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

Sliders are a truck thing. If I had to explain, you wouldn't understand.
Tacky? Not hardly. Even the mil finish frame looks right to me. I like the black frame, too, but it gives it a non-original look. It's not a bad trade-off though. Not like chrome wheel arches or any of that tacky stuff. If I had a custom truck with every effort taken to create a clean smooth ride or an all original highly optioned SWB I'd go with a smooth window. All the rest are great with the added feature of a sliding window.

Re: keep rear sliding glass or go 1 piece?

To each his own I guess. Personally, I like a slider and hate driving a truck without one. I have always had sliders in my trucks (it makes it easier to throw trash from the cab into the bed) and prob always will...
