1970 Chevy C10 Factory 12 Bolt Posi Leaf Rearend
 

This rearend just came out of my daily driver, and has absolutely no issues. Rear brakes are great, and is complete with all cables, brackets, etc. Both rear brake emergency cables are still intact and neither are cut. This is a factory posi rearend with 3.08 gears. This thing was great on the freeway - 75mph with no guilt! This is the wider of both rearends from 67-72 at 58" from back plate to backing plate. 6 lug axles and came out of a leaf spring 1/2 ton truck.

I THINK IT WILL ACCEPT THE 5 LUG AXLES. i HAVE THE SAME REAREND AND I PUT 5 LUGGERS ON MINE

Mine is 3.08 too the only difference your if for leaf and mine is for cool springs

This thing is perfect. Actually had new wheel cylinders last year on both sides. Not a noise from it.

I'm going Porterbuilt coilover conversion, disc brakes and needed 5 lugs with the wheels I want. It was easier to start with a '71 5 lug coil rearend than convert this one.

It's the same width as 71-72, not sure about the 5 lug axles.

Yes, if its the wider 70-72 12 bolt housing as you have indicated in post #1 & #10, you can slide the OE 12 bolt 5 on 5 inch lug pattern axles right into this posi rear. Should be no more than a two/three beer weekend job, that is unless you end up having a helper or two over :alc:. Mel :chevy:

May consider a partial trade for a clean (no rust or bondo) and functioning driver's door and 2 15x7 steel 6 lug wheels.

It took me 6 beers to swap the last set...but I was on my fifth when I grabbed the first tool :lol:

This is great for most GMC owners and still worth it for anyone else!
