Just Rebuilt my engine. What do you think of it?

Its a 1973 Chevy 350 2 bolt block originally out of a caprice. Its now bored .040 over, flat top pistons, original crankshaft, double roller timing chain, comp cams cam and lifter kit (cam has gross valve lift of .454), heads are 305 swirl heads off of a camaro with casting number 14102187, intake manifold is an edelbrock performer manifold with a holley street avenger 670cfm carb. Engine is painted chevy orange. And valve covers are factory gm covers off of a 1992 chevy truck I found in the junkyard lol. Cleaned all the oil of of them and repainted them black.

sounds like a good start man should have plenty of streetable hp and still look fairly stock

Sounds like a good motor to start out with. I would definitely think about some different heads down the road. They are going to be holding power back

I've always been told that 305 heads on a 350 will significantly increase compression. I ran a set on a 76 Monte Carlo I had back in the day and they dropped my 1/4 mile time by .5sec & made that old boat launch off the line...

I meant aftermarket heads. I guess I've never had stock heads on motors that I have built, so I've never had 305 heads on a 350. They have always been sort of aftermarket head

sounds like a good little build should run good. I've used
the 305 heads alot there can be issues with compression and detonation but they work well

I like having 305 heads. Makes the truck pull pretty hard when you launch it :D

There Is an increase in compression. But less flow for the bigger cam. Just get some small chamber sbc or 202 heads. 305s have horrible flow. The only gain with 305 heads is the increase in low end torque. A good set of heads will keep port velocity down low which will keep your torque an still have enough flow up high and add power.

What you should look into is some vortech heads they will get you to where your going fast

^^ what he said...too bad you've got flat-tops.
otherwise, sounds like good build. be sure to post an update...im interested in how that carb works out for you

I personally think you can't beat a properly tuned Q-jet. It runs circles around this Edelbrock I have on it now lol.

Holleys are great carbs though, also curious to see how it works out.
