Very rare add on
Heres some many of us have never seen.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Chevrol...sories&vxp=mtr BTW if you go through the pictures, you will see an artist rendition of a GMC but NO gmc grill letters. I wonder why? |
Re: Very rare add on
Rare...and definitely different. Was cool to see though.

Re: Very rare add on
probably a liscensing thing with gm, in order to put thier trademark in an ad... gmc looks neat with the egg crate grille though.

Re: Very rare add on
Wow, 1900 seems a bit steep. It looks like there might be some water damage along the right center of the ceiling, but that might just be the photo. I had something like this on my 63 back in the 80’s but it was not as nice.
I seem to remember there was someone who was getting something like this a few months ago that was in Burbank but the truck had been sitting for a long long time. I wonder if he ever was able to work out a deal with the owners. |
Re: Very rare add on
I still have some sale brochures for this. Circa 1961!! There were a bunch of small local camper manufactures around back then.

Re: Very rare add on
Could you really put a jeep on top and if so how in the world do you get it on and off?

Re: Very rare add on
Here's a closer look at the custom grille. It's not all that bad for an artist rendering:

Re: Very rare add on
One of the ads I have shows a load of lumber on the roof of their camper it’s so loaded that the suspension is on the stops. Another shows half the workers standing on the roof. Advertising tricks to show how strong the product is. I hope Burbluv worked out a good deal and is on the way to making it work.

Probably for legal reasons. Here is the original photo. For GMC purists, some custom cab seats were color coordinated from '62 thru '64, depending on exterior color.

Re: Very rare add on
I'll try to reemember to post a pictures of thistype of add-on option that was used in a promo pic by GM, some of you may have seen it or even have it, if so post it. It shows a guy relaxing on the back deck of a pull out camper watching tv with a striped awning covering him. Don't know IF this is the same or a really close cousin.
