Finally got started on the new project, Found a 67 in so so shape, I think Earl Scheib had this thing @ one time !!!!

Plans are all tubular crossmembers, Being built @ Porterbuilt as we speak.
Air ride with sway bars front and rear, Steering still up in the air. Power will be from Ls2 or Ls something? Depend what I can find! Shaved fire wall. Disc all around, He are a few pictures to start with!

Also check ot my other build. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=457288

i have been thinking about doing that to mine, just a lil scared. would make it ALOT easier to blast.

gonna be replacing every one of my x members also with tubular. will definetely keep an eye on this build.

Re: 67 ls-rrrr

I blasted with all the cross members in it to start with. Just so I could get to all of the rivets, instead of digging thru all the grime. I did not waste my time on the cros members, no that there out I'm going to go back and clean up a few areas.

WOW! Man you really took that frame apart! All the rivits must have been a huge pain. Sounds like you have some awesome plans for it.

For those who still have hours of cutting rivets out, i've found cutting an x into the top of them with the cutoff wheel and taking the air hammer with the chisel tool on it works pretty quick

That works great. Get some ear plugs though. I found a good cutting torch and air hammer with a punch works good too but be careful of the frame.

Thanks, still have a ways to go! Work is more important than sand blasting, Thankfully this is just a keep busy kind of project, that I can work on when I have down time @ work.

I looked at that same truck a couple years ago, did he still have the yellow 68 with the orange stepside from this truck? I also called on that front clip but it was already sold...I should have known! :metal:
