Steering column question...

Not sure if this is the right forum to put this under but has anyone used Summit steering columns?

What is the good bad and ugly about them? I dont mind spending dough for a good product, but at the prices these are I thought they would be worth asking about.

I could be wrong, but I think they are made by Ididit. I was looking at these also, as it looks like a good deal for everything you get.

Only thing I saw, is that they are not a bolt-in deal. You would have to use a universal type column drop.

Summit column with column shift... 260

Ididit retro fit series 760...

for the 500 savings I could make a nice bracket and have it powdercoated lol :)

Just didnt know if they were junk or not, I will drive up to Summit Sunday and give them a look....

Anything in particular I should look for?

I agree, worth it for the savings. Let me know what you think when you see it in person. I would say, look at the quality of the finish, and how "tight" the tumbler for the ignition is.

I do know most of summits house brand parts are made by big name companies so it should be fine.

As luck would have it the box it came in had a sticker that was covered by a UPS label. Sticker said Hoffman and part number was stcol2b. I googled it and couldnt find Hoffman but the part number looks to also be Helix. Not sure who Helix is.

I think Helix is Hoffman Group.

Re: Steering column question...

The steering columns that summit sells comes in from China at the price you listed above.

They do sell Ididit and flaming river columns which are alot better and quality and finish.

Keep this in mind with all Ididit made columns they are made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty and use all GM internal made parts in there columns.

The down side they are more money but you pay for quality

If anybody wants a ididit column we can help out we have several in stock and have great prices on them

Thankyou,
Justin
