What autometer gauges?

I need to know what to monitor they are going in a 71 c10 weekend driver/cruiser with a bbc 468 I know for sure I want a tach but then should I monitor water temp, oil temp, oil pressure ect...Also from what I've read I should be looking at the electrical not mech. gauges right?..Thanks

i'm also looking at putting in gauges soon, why would you want electric over mechanical any reason in particular?
