If not for this site...

Would you remain so interested in your truck??Just wondering!

knucklebuster 05-06-2003 08:04 PM

The reason I ask is this site is what drives me to continue work when I'm frustrated with it.

griesel72 05-06-2003 08:13 PM

without this site, where else would i get quality advice and help from expirenced people for free, get to look at dozens of the best trucks ever made and shop for parts cheap from the comfort of my own home?

dtlilly 05-06-2003 08:14 PM

Without this site? I can't picture living:D

Palf70Step 05-06-2003 08:24 PM

Ilove my truck..but without you folks and your support..I know it would be much slower and easier to put it on the back burner more.

Warbones 05-06-2003 08:32 PM

This Site

Without this site and the people that wonder around here as I do, I wouldn't be as close to getting a truck as I am now. I have one I want to get and just waiting for the deal to become final.

old Rusty C10 05-06-2003 08:35 PM

are you kidding this site got me to chase down a tow truck to get a second chevy to mess with and got me to restore my work wreck for my kid

Riveted1 05-06-2003 09:04 PM

I couldn't live w/out this site! Even though I relatively new to it, I've learned at lot from the people here. Nothing like "collective wisdom/experience"
:burnout:

crazy longhorn 05-06-2003 09:38 PM

my old longhorn has been a long , & hard fight. I purchased the old truck in of 1984. Since then, I have raised a couple kids, Had a morgage, car payments , built a few cars ,motorcycles, ect. Over the yrs, I have learned a lot of things "damn hardball". I have got to a spot in my life , where things finally feel like they are rolling. The house has been refinanced , & close to being payed off.....& I am gonna build a "hotrod camper"! Little did the factory engineers know that some crazy old fart would figure that a Longhorn should be dropped , chopped , channeled, shaved & running a stroked sb, with 6 gears behind it! Yes, this site "rocks", but bottom line is, I will build what i like regardless....I give you all a few gears, with a big @ss smile:burnout: :burnout: crazyL

racedvl 05-06-2003 10:39 PM

I my truck would be nothing like it is without this site. :D

Piston 05-06-2003 10:56 PM

Within a 1yr time frame I have found this site, from there I found the truck club of KC and became a member there. Also fully restored my 72 which I would have "planned on" doing for serveral years... if at all.

Thanks guys!

Class of 69 05-06-2003 10:58 PM

Back in the 70's & 80's I made my living as a mechanic. I worked on, and owned these trucks for years. In the late 80's, I "advanced" to heavy mechanics ( buses, trucks..the real ones..heavy machinery). I looked for a truck to rebuild for the last ten years!!! These trucks are in my blood. I finally bought my current 69 GMC last Sept. Over the winter, I looked around to find parts for it,and didn't come up with much...until I stumbled upon this board!!! I now have 90% of what I need to convert my GMC to a Chev....and it all came from people on this board!! Some I've had shipped to me....and a lot I picked up on parts runs to IN, MO, KS. I have no doubts that I would still be wondering where the heck I would find ANY of the stuff I now have if I hadn't found this board. Would I still have my truck, and be restoring it without this board...absolutely! Would I be in the position I'm now in to start the actual work, without this board....not in another ten years!! You guy's have my respect, and admiration for the way this board is run, and the integrity in which business is conducted.

dinnut 05-06-2003 11:10 PM

when everyone laughed at my 72... yall told me it was a good place to start. without this board... i would... have to find another board. haha.

Longhorn Man 05-06-2003 11:31 PM

I owe alot to this board...I learned about 75% of my truck knowledge from here, and if it wasn't for this board, there would be no one ton Longhorn in front of my house.
The tips are awsome, the trucks are awsome, the ppl are awsome.
If it were not for this board, I have no idea what I would do in the late evenings every single night.

dinnut 05-06-2003 11:39 PM

I enjoy this site, I have learned quite a bit and still have alot to figure out with some experience...

I was also surprised by the amount of younger dudes like me who enjoy these trucks...I am the "oddball" amongst my group of friends b/c I have a truck, they all have little ricer cars, and its good to know I'm not alone :D .

yellowgmc 05-07-2003 02:19 AM

MAC67 05-07-2003 02:45 AM

this site is the best on the net,,BUT it wouldnt be near as good as it is if it wasnt for the guys and gals behind the clever names,, its the people that make it so great,, we just all need to get together and have our own show,,lol,i have the passion as big as anyone here,, its just all my trucks seem to slip throught my fingers when hard times hit, but ive stil got my drive , my board and my friends to keep me on track ,,id like to personally to say thank you to all the members ive encountered and had the privledge to deal with on this board ,, and for those members who i havnt delt with ,,wellll get ahold of me,, ive got parts i need to sell,,lol

BUXMAN66 05-07-2003 02:49 AM

my g/f thinks i'm obsessed w/ mine. i agree, and i'm happy in my little world.......!

73stepside 05-07-2003 03:41 AM

i love these trucks. some of the best looking truck ever made. i would still have one of these trucks without this board but it wouldn't be half as fun to build one without this site. you guys are great

wnc mountain 05-07-2003 08:44 AM

I love my truck with or without BUT... I would not be as knowledgable as I am( which isn't much) without this sit. My truck will progress much better as a result. This site is great and there are many great people here.

casey 05-07-2003 10:02 PM

playing with my truck alone is great but sharing the whole experience with this board makes it even better, always so interesting reading about everyones experiences, the highs and lows, we can all relate to when trying to restore one of theses trucks, and the wifes and girlfriends input good or bad makes me laugh, thanks to all for the help with repairs, and all the good laughs
