5" Autometer tach, show your mounting location

So, I am about to install the 5" autometer tach in my sons 72. He is 15 1/2 and got this huge tach with shift light. I am going to remove the shift light because he wont need it and I am having trouble as to where to mount the tach. I cant fit it behind the steering wheel on the colum because it is a tilt wheel. I don't want to mount it on the dash either because I dont want it to block his view for driving but need to mount it where it can be seen by the driver and look cool too.

So post some pictures of where you all have this monster of a tach mounted. I am going to fab a mount and kinda have an idea where I want to mount it but looking for ideas before I install it soon.

I will post pictures of my location after I install it.....

mine is temporarily under the dash right below where the radio is. also my oil pressure and temp gauge are down there. i say temporarily in hoping to do a full set of autometer gauges as soon as i get the cash saved up. if you want a pic of this i can try and get one but truck is in shop right now.

so I decided to mount the tach today and figured this was a good spot. Kinda out of the way but still visible and easy to see while driving. I fabed up a bracket and attached the bracket to the metal under the dash pad just left of the door above the vent. (gonna get a new dash pad soon too so I didnt want to mess with the dash pad at all) Eventually, I will do a full gauge cluster with all new gauges and tach but for now this will work.

hey thanks, I just could not see mounting it like most people in the middle of the dash above the stereo. I have the tilt when so behind the sterring wheel was a no go too... I am actually happy with it where it is now
