20s with 275 55s on our truck? with and without drop
 

Buddy of mine might be getting new wheels for his truck. He is gonna make me a deal on his 20in akuza wheels. Im curious as to what tire size is best on our trucks. Ive got stock ride height, but i want to lower it 2/4, possibly 3/5. Will i rub with 20s with 275 55 20s? Like to know before i make the deal. they are on his 05 sierra. Id imagine stock ride i wont. But worried about it with a drop. Opinions and experiences please! Maybe pics with these tires on trucks and post your ride height.

My opinion is you need to know the wheel width and offset (back spacing) to determine the fitment on your truck. I would also verify the bolt pattern, I dont believe the 05' Sierra bolt pattern will work on the 67-72's w/o adapters. I personally run a 255/55/18 on my truck with no clearence issues, Im on air, but its rougly a 5/7 drop at ride height... just my .02

My truck is 6x5.5 & His truck is 6x 5.5 i was gonna do 17s with 60s but i thnk 20s would look better.

I apologize, I was thinking 2wd (5x5), I would just check the backspacing/offset and the wheel width then. You could also talk your buddy into letting you test fit one to verify how close it will be when lowered...

Also- I think the late model 6-luggers have a smaller center hole then our trucks, plus the fact that more than likely your buddy's rims have a pretty high positive offset which will make them look a little goofy without some spacers to get them out where they belong.

Like mentioned above- take some measurements and do a test fit before committing.
