Hi guys, just wondered if anyone still uses these blocks. I checked the numbers and they are 1960 and heads were 1967 60cc.

Nothing wrong with the good old 283. Just most people want more power, so the easy to find, and hop up 350 seems to have become the standard. A nicely built 283 with 4 barrel, cam, some compression, and headers will still get you 300 horse. Some one else is always going to have more power, so if you like the 283, go for it!

I love my little 283, perfect motor for what I need. I f I was going to build my truck for big horsepower I'd go big block (for sure), just my opinion though , later Doug
