U-Bolt Bracket question

I just bought an 88 GMC sierra k2500 and I took the bed of the truck off to replace the fuel pump and then noticed one of the U-Bolts was so rusted that it was broken. So I am replacing all the Ubolts and noticed this bracket (pictured below is pretty rusty and I'd like to replace it. It holds the axle to the leaf spring and the ubolt passes through it.

my question is, what is this bracket called and where can i find one other then a junk yard.

I'm probably going to head out and grab 2 from a junk yard this weekend if i can't find a place to buy them new at a reasonable price.

Any dealership can get em. They are called a rear anchor spring plate. They are like 30 bucks a piece.

Re: U-Bolt Bracket question

best bet is to flip them, find some for like a 73-87 and mount them on top and use reg. round u bolts instead of the square u type these trucks have, and then get rid of those type plates, they just hold dirt and water and rust away.

Re: U-Bolt Bracket question

i already had bought the square type before i started to take them off. otherwise i probably would have just bought the round type since that's what i see a bunch of people did. I picked up the square bolts for around 8 bucks a pop from rockauto.com
i actually just put them back on today after i posted here. I'm going to drive it to the junk yard to pick up a few other things this weekend since i have a shopping list of things to get to hopefully help my rough idle until its warm (i'll start another thread for that though after i give up trouble shooting it if i can't figure it out)

That spring plate looks like it only needs a bead blaster & metal primer.
