original tire size question (naming convention/conversion, etc)

What would an H78x15x2+2 mean in today's tire sizing convention? Really all that matters is the H78x15 I believe.

Anyone repop these original tires? (72 chev 1/2 ton).

Thanks.

Never mind - found my answer. Thought I'd share - pretty useful tire cross-reference chart her: http://www.turbinecar.com/tires.htm

H78=225-75-15 / 235-70-15

I am stickin to 235-75-15 on my 15x6 steelies. I think they are perfect in my opinion. But I do like the look of 8.00 or 8.20 bias black walls on these trucks

I agree 50bomb - although those are taller than factory (slightly), that's what I have on my 66 as well. Agreed - filling up the wheelwell with a fairly large diameter as well as a little extra width (without getting crazy with it) is what I like.
