rear fender bolt heads / door striker plate bolt heads
I need the name of the type of bolt head that is on the 55-57 chevy rear box side fenders. They are a funn shaped cam type bolt head pattern.
I am trying to find out where I can buy the right socket or screw driver head to get these weird bolts out - they are also present on the door striker plates as well. Thanks! |

They are called 'clutch head'.
I bought my socket set on ebay... Shipping to Europe costed more then the set itself... Wim Posted via Mobile Device |

They are called clutch head as Iceman 70 said above.
I found a whole list of them on Ebay by putting Clutch head in the search including these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tchlink:top:en You should be able to find them in the Craftsman tool catalog or the Calvan or other specialty tool catalogs at the parts houses. They probably don't stock them but they should be in the catalogs. Also if you can flag down a tool truck either SnapOn, Mac or Cornwell they should have or be able to get them but they will probably cost more. |
Re: rear fender bolt heads / door striker plate bolt heads
Thanks guys. I found out that in Canada the 57 never used these clutch head type bolts which explains the funny look on parts persons faces when I asked about them. I have a Montana truck. Apparently the clutch head bolt is an American invention much like the equally crappy Robinson bolt head Canadians invented.
I have a socket set on order. Thanks again. I really appreciate the help. |
