Do you think...?

In watching old TV ads, I came across this one. Around 0:22 the shoulder belts come out, but I don't think I've ever seen any like that. The passenger side yes, but the I've never seen the driver's side setup up directly behind the driver. Something cooked up for the commercial, or was the belt mount sometimes located here?
