Will these stepped A-arms work?

What do you think?

They are welded on every single flat place, top and bottom.

The guy has been welding for years and has built alot of stuff.

And theres a heavy guesset thats not so noticable on bottom.

I wanna run these on my 64 to keep drum brakes..

As long as you trust the welds, they look to be 'built' correctly.

I don't see a problem with the arms. Drum brakes, not so much.

Kevin Ehresman in Dayton has done modified control arms like that for years. Works just fine. That used to be a common fix to lower a car that you can't find dropped spindles for.

I just built a set but I changed the angle of the ball joint before i welded it, just to correct it more....also pie cut the uppers to correct slightly.

These were a spare set, so Im going to run them, and if theres a problem, I can always swap back.

Drum brakes are fine. Its got all new wheel cylinders, hardware kits, and dual master cylinder. It'll stop fine. I may run synthetic brake fluid just to aid in less brake fade.

They got new balljoints and theyre painted up, so today the front comes apart.

Is there any steering issues I'll run into? Shouldnt be any different than using 2.5" drop spindles right?

What did it cost to have them done

Nada..zip..zero..;)

They were a set off my buddys 63 burb. He put all rebuilt 72 stuff under his and I took all his stock 63 stuff.

Me and my kid helped him swap and bag his burb, so he did the Aarms for me.

I measured tonite, they equate to a 2-1/8" drop, so we'll see how it goes.

Looks good to me since you're not running drop spindles.
