i have a 71 sub 1/2 ton

to cut the floor...but will the heavy
notch allow for towing? probably wont
tow but if i sell it next guy might!
and is it really stronger or worth

yup but it would be hard to bolt into a suburban
with the body still on it.....

If the ccp one will work better go for it.As far as towing goes if its done smart i doubt the notch would cause a problem.

Either one you will lose a substantial amount of frame strength. THere is a thread by lakesideraodster I believe that compares notches and their strength that he has load tested on the computer.

Re: does ccp heavy notch allow towing?

so it probably isnt worth the extra $70?
because the strength difference isnt
substantial enough to tow anyways...
might need a custom porterbuilt notch...
