Need some tips for my 1967 SWB

Alright guys, what I have is a 1967 swb pickup. Just like everyone else on here I have an "image" in my head for what I would really like my truck to look like after all my money is gone and spent on it. What I am really aiming for on this truck is kind of a pro-street appearance. Staggered tires, I really like the weld draglites rims. I also am going to convert the truck from 6-lug to 5-lug. With that being said, what am I looking at here guys? As far as converting 6lug to 5lug what am I going to have to do? This is kind of a budget build as I go type of project, but I am not looking to cut any corners. If I'm gonna do it, I want to do it right. The truck has a 12bolt rearend in it now, and I have a spare 12bolt with 5 lug axles in it. The bad news, the spare 12bolt has a shredded carrier. Another thing I have around is a Ford 9in rearend. Is that a good or bad route? Of the research I have done it appears I will have to do some custom work with the rear fender wells. Any comments on easy effective ways to do that? I was looking at the weld draglite rims the other day and couldnt find any with 5x5 bolt pattern. Does anyone know if they make them in 5x5? If anyone has any helpful hints or tips it would be greatly appreciated!!

Welcome!! To answer some of your questions.Swap in a 72 up to about 86 front crossmember to get disc brakes, use the PS set-up from the same truck. If you want pro street style, you will need to decide on wheel/tire combo for the rear to determine how wide the tubs and axle will need to be.If you have to narrow a rear,I would use the Furd 9 in.If stock just run a 12 bolt geared right for what power/tranny you decide. In Kansas you shouldn't have any problems finding a rear end for a 67-72.
Read thru the builds forum for some good write-ups on widening the wheel tubs.

Would you happen to know how big of tire you can fit in the back without having to tub? And what is a good rim and tire size for the rear? I was thinking a 15in rim and the width ??? Thanks

Also, what am I looking at when it comes to deciding whether I need to shorten the rearend or not? Personally, unless I need to I dont want to have to take it that far.

This is the way I would like my truck to look someday. This truck has a great stance to it. Does anyone know if the rearend was shortened?
