Carb help

I need some recommendations. I think my carb is having some issues. Im thinking about replacing it and possibly replacing the air cleaner - trying to make it all look as nice as the exterior. Anyway, what are my options for carb replacement (other than original replacement)

Re: Carb help

That is a Rochester Mono-jet carb. They are good dependable economical carbs. They do need cleaning & new gaskets ocasionally. Put a kit in it or get someone familiar with them to do it. Do not exchange it for a "reman". They often dont match the application & most of the time are not right. Make sure the link from the throttle shaft to the step up rod does not fall out of the hole. If you should go the exchange route DO NOT turn in the old carb till it is up & running & you are satisfied.
