Blazer Lift
 

I am thinking about checking with a local company about re-arching my springs to lift my Blazer. I am thinking I will probably go about 4 inches in the front and a heavy 5 inches in the rear to take care of the negative rake my Blazer has. Anyone have any experience with doing this. I am thinking I will be able to clear 34-35 inch tires and this local company is quoting about $80 per spring to re-arch. Thanks fellas!!

It sounds like you're planning on deciding how much lift you get from your springs, but you can only get them arched back to around the original dimensions. In other words, stock springs would wind up being too short to re-arch for a 4" lift and likewise, 6" lift springs would be too long to make stock height. Capice?

Rearching springs is only a temporary fix. They will begin to sag. The best way is replace them. If your wanting lift you will need to replace them. Check into Offroad Design. They have a shackle flip kit for the rear and springs for the front. They retain a good ride and are a little cheaper than buying four springs. Good luck:metal:

Personally, I would do 4 springs. At this point, yours are at leat 40 years old, and they could use a break! As mentioned before, the lift you want won't work with re-arched stockers. Get an aftermarket 4" lift with rear springs. You won't regret it, and most likely, it won't cost all that much more. I originally did an add-a-leaf and 2 1/2" blocks in the rear, and I ended up bending the spring perches and making much more work for myself. The 4" springs in the front have been maintenance free since day 1.
