So, in other words, it's a fiberglass packed muffler. NO THANKS. Been there done that. It's sounds real good when first installed, but the longer you run it, the louder, more obnoxious it gets. I had a Dynomax Super Turbo on my truck.

So far, the Aerochamber is the only muffler that I've used that sounds good on the outside, and quite enough on the inside to where I can hear my music without having to turn the volume wide open. There is a difference in being loud, and just flat annoying. :)

Im with swervin on this one. I spent over 700 in my stereo and I want to be able to hear it without the knob wide open. That is why im selling my 40 series to a friend who wants it and slapping on some Aero Chambers.

Maybe im just getting too old too fast. Im already 18 :D

Hooker told me that the Aerochambers have no internal comonents that will be ruined by heat (too close to cat).
That and the fact that there in nothing to wear out is good.

Exactly Eddie. That continuous roving fiberglass will cause it to get louder over time. It's gradual to where you don't notice it until one day, you catch yourself turning the volume up higher than usual.

Don't believe it, let someone hear it now, and then wait about a year and let them hear it again. First thing they will say is damn, you put louder mufflers on your truck. This is what happened to me with the Dynomax.

The Dynomax's are $120, and the Hooker Maximum Flow's are $60 :D

I've had glass packs, Flowmasters and stock mufflers. My next set and last are going to be Aerochambers.

LOL, Acutally I think Mike or Dave does it most often. I got teh truck with stock then added glass packs first when I got it then after the ZZ4 added I changed to Flowmasters and that's been almost 2 years. Now Mike and Dave have both had Flowmasters and later went to Aerochambers since I've been on the forums.

Yeah, let's see.

It had the stock exhaust when I got it. Swapped it for a Dynomax converter and Super Turbo muffler. This didn't last as the Super Turbo couldn't take the heat from the cat. The thing busted open it got so hot. Went to a 3" in/out Random Technology cat, and a Flowmater tin can...er....I mean muffler. Got tired of this rathe quick. I'm now with two Aerochambers and love it. Won't use anything else on my truck.

The thing is, everyone has different tastes. Everyone can tolerate different things. I for one couldn't take the Flowmaster any longer. It's loud, obnoxious, an flat out sucks IMO. I like a nice rumble sound to my exhaust. I want to be able to hear inside the cab without having to yell at the person sitting next to me.

For this, I want to thank Dave. I would have never even thought about the Aerochambers if he didn't bring it up.

I'm building my motor now, it will be very similiar to what you have, except the heads are gunna have to wait (tranny used that money)....I would love to hear your exhaust, gotta video camera or anything to record the sound??? Or do you know of anywhere that I can hear a small block with the aero chambers and the XE265H cam, I'm hoping for a nice, low, lopey idle....I'm going to run headers with 2.5" pipes into Aero chambers and turn down just before the axle. I should have the motor ready to drop in this time next week, I just can't wait....worse than Christmas eve for a 7yr old.....

I am so anti glasspack it isent even funny. But I love my flows :D

I wont ever change them either. I love them, Sound awesome and dont rob horsepower. I agree 100% with what Mike said about the noise..etc.

I use a cherrybomb vortex muffler (flowmaster knockoff) on my truck (although it's a 98), and it is quiet in the cabin of the truck. Although I have been told that it sounds like the gates of hell are opening up to anyone behind me when I punch the throttle......LOL. I use super turbos on my camaro and I like them as well. I have never noticed an increase in sound over time with them......but the average life span of them is only about 2 years on my Z.......I either damage them from scraping on something or blow them out.......LOL
