Chopped 84 C10 Resto/Rebuild

Hello all,
It has been a while since I was on here and figured I would start a build/restore thread. I have a chopped 84 C10 that my father and I built when I was in high school. Before I moved away it got vandalized and sat for about 8 years. I have now started fixing her up and going to alter it a bit more now that I have moved back to PA.

Below are some quick specs on the truck:
Chop - 3.5 inches
Lowered - 6 inches rear and 4 inches front - BellTech
Engine - 94 corvette LT1 with Accel DFI
Rear - 10 bolt with 3.08 airplane gears
Interior - Stock with Bench seat

Before back when she was cherry:

Re: Chopped 84 C10 Resto/Rebuild

The Bad Parts:
- Both lower door panels have cancer
- Cab has some cancer where it was chopped
- Small spot on left cab corner
- Both lower rear bed sides have cancer
- Need new cut front glass :(
- Need new front fenders
- Need hood and cowl
- Need new lower control arms

The Good:
- Have all patch panels
- Have ordered all my parts I need for truck minus hood, fenders, cab roof for repairs, and tail light fillers. A nice $2k order.
- Have new wiring harness with fuse box and loom
- Have new fuel feed and return line hardware, pump, and filter for fuel system overhaul
- Have FatMat sound deadening for lower half of cab, doors, and floor.

Progress so far:
- Doors off truck, stripped, and patches stitched on minus shaved mirrors and handles
- Right lower Bed side patched
- Interior stripped & floor painted with Miracle Paint (Rust preventing paint)
- Heater removed - Going with Summit small heater for defrosters only

Next Steps:
- Patch lower left bed side
- Patch left cab corner
- Fill in heater side of firewall and smooth it
- Smooth doors to get ready for primer
- Smooth rest of patched areas to ready them for primer
- Get cab roof for donor parts needed - Left pillar and upper window channel

I am blessed with a father that grew up in a body shop and fixed totals on the side. He has a nice garage that he built for his retirement that has all I need to work on my tuck. Also I am learning a lot from him on body repair. I am in IT for my career, but I have always been a motor head growing up. We just returned from Charlotte, NC where we were at the Food Lion Auto Fair. That was a really cool shindig at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. I would suggest that you make it down there next year if you can swing the trip. Anyways I am pretty tired from the drive back and will give some more updates tomorrow on plans that I have for the truck and any progress I make on it after work. :)

Hey all,
I've been pretty busy with work, but I was able to make some progress on the truck. I was able to accomplish the following:
- Patch passenger rear lower bed
- Shave and patch doors
- Weld in tail light fillers
- Paint radiator support with epoxy primer
- Strip paint off bed
- Remove heater
- In process of patching heater holes

I have received all of my parts from LMC Truck for the Interior, Weather stripping, body mounts, Side Glass, Windshield, All bolts, nuts, screws for front of truck, carpet, front chrome, dash cover, and about everything else they had for it that was needed. I got a 21 circuit wiring harness and all of my wiring loom, GM style weather resistant connectors, and fuel system parts. The paint I got for the Truck is SPI Black epoxy primer and SPI High build Primer.

Next steps:
- Shoot bed and doors with SPI black epoxy primer
- Patch and smooth firewall
- Remove old tailgate filler and weld in new one.
- Strip and paint tailgate with black epoxy primer
- Locate front fenders and hood at swap meet
- Remove bed and prep front side for epoxy primer
- Get donor cab roof to fix bad spots
- Patch left cab corner
- Feather out front bumper and prime with epoxy

Below are some progress pictures:

Looks good!

What are you plans for color? interior?

Re: Chopped 84 C10 Resto/Rebuild

Thanks! For the color, it will be hot rod black for awhile. I want a break from waxing and shining :). My plans for the interior will be a recovered bench seat black with silver-ish grey stripes, like something out of year one or classic industries. I was going to get buckets, but I like how comfortable the bench seat is.. The carpet i got is black. I really like the look of carbon fiber, so my ultimate plan would be to overlay the dash with black carbon fiber and smooth and buff it to a shine. Have the insterment cluster covered and smoothed with silver carbon fiber/Kevlar meterial. Have the strip where the AC vents would go covered with the silver carbon fiber/Kevlar. Have the door panels black carbon fiber and the inserts like where the handles go inlayed with the silver carbon fiber/Kevlar. Also have the bottoms of the door, kick panels, vents covere in black carbon fiber. Like I said, I like the look of carbon fiber. At first it will have the black dash pad, black door panels, and look pretty much stock. I don't want to run into cruisin season with a ripped up interior. I will prolly go to a junk yard and get the interior panels and start glassing and overlaying them out of the truck..
