I-6 250 swap ability?

Hey folks,
My truck currently has a blown-up 235 engine in it, bored .040 over w/ spun crank bearing on #2. Needless to say, I'm engine shopping.
A guy in the nieghborhood has a 250 motor as a long block, no intake or accessories.
How much if any of the 235 stuff will bolt up to the 250? Is it a direct swap? I don't want to spend too much swapping in anything with a carb, since the long term plan is to go LSx. I just need a running pickup truck to collect the parts & time to save some cash...

I have a bellhousing on hand to put a V-8 in front of the existing transmission & pretty much zero other parts on hand.

Nothing changes over from one to the other except maybe the carburetor could be used but that may have a different bolt pattern.

When I put the 250 in my 48 that has a 54 frame I used a cast iron V8 truck bellhousing that bolts up to the stock crossmember under the bellhousing. I then leveled the engine and built some front mounts that I'm not proud enough of to show photos of.
I'm pretty sure that I had to shorten the shaft on the water pump so that I could fit a shorter V8 pulley to it and move the fan back a bit to clear the radiator but It's been 23 years since I set the engine in the truck so the memory maybe wrong on that one.

I threw the truck back together in a three week mad dash to get it ready to go to a custom car event and had plans of pulling it back apart and doing a lot of changes including putting 396 that I still have in it but life got in the way and it never got done. It did get driven around a hundred thousand miles with the 250 in it though and pulled 20 mpg on a regular basis. It has a full syncro mid 70's three speed and 70 something Nova rear end that i have no idea of what gear ratio it has. I'm thinking 2.90 or 3.08 though.

Hmm. With all that in mind, I think I'll pass on the 250 and keep looking for a 235 till I have the T,M&E for an LS.
