New/rebuilt power steering for '66 C10
I bought my '66 as an unfinished project and the PO had installed all new steering parts along with a rebuilt power steering box. It had a bolt on bracket to mount the box to the frame. It's all been bolted up but has zero miles on it. I'm thinking about going with No Limit's bolt in rack and pinion, so I'm wondering what a fair price would be for the steering box, bracket, and all the linkage. Basicly everything from spindle to spindle needed to add power steering and rebuild the linkage. I don't have a ps pump or hoses.

Well used boxes go for 50-75 but yours has been rebuilt then you have the adapter plate and the linkage. This is a hard one to figure.

Re: New/rebuilt power steering for '66 C10
Thanks guys, I went on Napa.com to see what the parts would cost new. Let me know if these are out of line, or fairly normal prices. I didn't find the center steering link on Napa's website, so I'm not sure what those are worth. The price for the P/S box is for a late 1970's C10 box, I think the '80s boxes had different hose fittings? The total was $521.00, I'm thinking $450-475 would be a reasonable asking price?
Adapter bracket: 50.00 Reman P/S box: 134.00 (didn't figure in the core charge) Tie rod ends: 75.00 Pitmann arm: 125.00 Idler arm: 97.00 Adjuster sleeves: 40.00 Total new: 521.00 |
