Air Bags on 69-72 K5 setup and channeled/body drop?
 

Any advice how to? Pictures would be helpful for both. First time air bags and thinking of doing a channeled/body drop?

i cant give much advice on how to, since this is my first full size but ive had a few bodied minitrucks, just bag it and enjoy it for now, if its your first time bagged you wont notice not being bodydropped

There's not much above the frame as far as body goes on these. Are you trying to lay pinch welds? By getting the frame on the ground, you're very close.

As for the air bags go, PB or other vendors on the site can help you out getting it to lay.

Just cuz you asked for pics, here's the fessler blazer...just know you lose the rear bench or you have to push it very far forward after the step notch is installed.

The K series Blazers will be similar to the C10 series trucks in regards to installing an air suspension system, with a few exceptions. Since the Blazer is a full body vehicle, where the truck has a removable bed, it's a little trickier to work on the rear suspension during the install due to the body restrictions. Just like the trucks, you'll have to do some type of modifications to the rear flooring to allow for chassis and axle clearance.

You mentioned that you want to " body drop " the truck and rest the body on the ground. Check the clearance from the bottom of the rocker down to the bottom of the frame on you Blazer. On the trucks there isn't much frame hanging down under the rocker, so the body drop wouldn't be too severe if you choose to go that route. There are some simple solutions for the C10 truck chassis that might apply to your Blazer.


When it comes to the suspension, Porterbuilt does offer several different solutions for your vehicle that will get it down on the ground. We offer a complete line of front and rear suspension packages that are designed for the C10 chassis platforms such as yours.

The front suspension crossmember that we offer for the C10 trucks can be adapted to a Blazer, allowing you to take full advantage of the benefits by replacing the crossmember. With the front crossmember assembly installed you can easier lay the chassis under the cab on the ground without having to "step" the front frame rails. Plus it will allow you to center the wheels in the wheel opening, narrow the track width up front to aid in wheel fitment and tire-to-fender clearance issues.

I decided to with airbags first then maybe in the future I will.. The reason why I want to keep the inside of the bed the same because I planning on adding the bench seat for the back...
