Where to Start?

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forum and I need some help. I grew up with in a Chevy loving family and I recently purchased a 68' Panel. The truck is in really bad shape and needs just about everything redone. I want to start with the drivetrain and finish the body at some point in the future. The PO told me it had the original engine (307) but I looked up the VIN and it came with a 6. I'm not trying to make it a #'s matching resto, I want a daily driver first and to use it for delivery's for the family biz eventually. Sooo, any help, tips, pointers, advice, or general support is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How do I post pix?

Welcome to the best place on the net to learn about your truck, and to mingle with lots of nice people that really enjoy these old Chevrolet's!

As for your question on "Where to start".

With out knowing what's what on your current set up and life responsibilities.

1'st thing I'd do is get it safety checked. Replace all of the fluids, and make sure the brakes work as they should. Get the engine running, and figure out where you stand with it and the transmission.

From there, it's all a matter of budgeting to get all of the rehab stuff taken care of. Once you get all that done, drive her around for a while. Doing so will help you think about what you want to do, and how you want to do it at what budget you can swing.

Here is a FAQ on posting images to your messages:

Again, welcome aboard and be sure to share lots of pictures of your new Panel!
