What's the height of a stock 72 suburban 4x4?
And what's the stock tire diameter?
As I'm looking at a few on CL, I'm realizing I've got only about 75" clearance to get in my garage. |

My 68 has about a 3" lift, and has 33" tall tires.
Fits in my garage just fine. |
Re: What's the height of a stock 72 suburban 4x4?
I'm running 4" of lift (roughly) and 35" tires and I'm 6'10", fitting in a modern garage by a hair. Stock tires are about 29" tall so that knocks off 3" and 4" of lift means 6'3" stock (roughly), so you might squeeze in if you're garage is really that short. I know people that would hit their head on that low of a door!
Best bet is to take a tape measure with you, as the last 40+ years has been rough on these trucks and most aren't exactly stock anymore. I don't even know where stock was on mine with all the changes that went on in the 70s and 80s. |

It really is that short, unfortunately. Thanks.
